Space Maintainer

A dental appliance that fills in the space that results from a missing tooth, while preventing other teeth from moving into the space. Since teeth and gum tissues have a tendency to move out of place in the absence of teeth, a Space Maintainer ensures that the shape of the mouth will stay the same until a dental restoration such as a Removable Partial Denture, Bridge, or Dental Implants can be made.
